WLALA President 2010-2011

        There is much about becoming the President of a prestigious and amazing bar association that is overwhelming.  The lead up to the Installation Dinner, even with the incredible support of incoming President-Elect, Tanya Forsheit, and the indefatigable efforts of WLALA’s Executive Administrator, Kay Burt, and Administrative Assistant, Shannon Finley, is detail mired and exhausting.  The fact that family, friends and colleagues have deluged me with congratulations and assurances that they are coming in droves to the upcoming Installation Dinner is a combination of heart warming and terrifying.  Thinking about what to say in a few moments to such an erudite audience has actually kept me up a few nights.  It is much like preparing the outline for one’s closing argument in trial.  It is a feeling that rivals the most amazing stimulant while simultaneously inducing nausea.  With that preface I will continue by saying that I am honored in a manner that defies accurate description that this organization, that has played such a major role in my life for the past fifteen years, is being entrusted to my leadership.
