Christen Sproule

Christen Sproule graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center earning a membership in the Order of the Coif. At Georgetown, she was an editor of the Georgetown Law Journal, a member of the Appellate Litigation Clinic, a Legal Writing Fellow, and a member of the Academic Standards and Admissions Committees. She clerked for the Honorable Richard J. Leon of the US District Court for the District of Columbia.

Christen Sproule served the Department of Justice for nine years as an Assistant United States Attorney in the District of Maryland and the Central District of California. As an AUSA, she successfully tried over a dozen cases and presented cases to the Fourth and Ninth Circuits in cases involving fraud, narcotics, human trafficking, and violent crimes. She received numerous awards from law enforcement agencies, including the Director’s Award from the Department of Homeland Security. She specialized in asset forfeiture, money laundering, and kleptocracy, in one case seizing over $1.7 billion dollars in assets, including motion pictures such as the Wolf of Wall Street, allegedly stolen from a foreign country’s sovereign wealth fund.

Last, year, she taught Legal Research and Writing to first-year law school students at Pepperdine Law School. She has also taught as an Adjunct Professor of Legal Writing and Advocacy at the University of Southern California – Gould School of Law.

Currently, she is a Deputy City Attorney in the Criminal Appellate section of the City Attorney’s Office of Los Angeles.  

Christen lives in the South Bay with her two boys, Leo and Elliott.
