Connie L. Chen is a Principal in the Los Angeles office of Jackson Lewis P.C.  Connie’s practice focuses on representing employers in all types of employment-related litigation in state and federal courts and in arbitration.  She has broad experience litigating single plaintiff and class action cases involving wage and hour, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and related claims.  She assists employers in a variety of industries, including restaurant, hospitality, retail, manufacturing, construction, health care, transportation, and nonprofit.

In addition, Connie defends employers against wage and hour claims before the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement, and charges of discrimination before the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board, the Department of Fair Employment and Housing, and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.  She also routinely provides preventative counseling to employers on policies and practices governing day-to-day workplace issues, including wage and hour compliance, employee handbooks, requests for leave, disability accommodation, employee discipline, layoffs, and terminations.

Connie earned her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and her J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City.  While in law school, she served as Production Editor of the Cardozo Arts and Entertainment Law Journal.

In addition to serving on the WLALA Board, Connie served on the California Women Lawyers Board of Governors from 2014-2018, and served as CWL’s Treasurer from 2016-2017.
