Elizabeth Russo
2018 Inner City Law Center Fellow
Elizabeth Russo is a second-year student at Loyola Law School, Los Angeles with a Master’s Degree in Psychology from Columbia University. Elizabeth’s personal passion and experience working with at-risk populations bolstered in her a desire to commit her professional and personal life to those in desperate need of a voice. Whether she was working in a psychiatric hospital with a “revolving door” (many of her clients are discharged and return to the same dysfunction that was the cause of their admission) or at the Ali Forney Center with trans women of color who endured human trafficking, physical abuse, and rape, Elizabeth was constantly reminded that she needed to do more. It became clear that communities who face significant barriers in accessing services are disproportionately involved in the justice system. Elizabeth welcomes the opportunity to continue pursuing justice for all citizens.
