Black History Month Interview with Jeannine Taylor

By WLALA Member Mariana Orbay

February 2021

Passionate about and committed to serving as a resource and mentor for diverse women in her community, Jeannine Taylor joined WLALA four years ago. “WLALA is changing, and I would like to be a part of that change,” says Taylor. In addition to being the Secretary to both WLALA and WLALA Foundation, Jeannine is the Associate General Counsel for Keck Medicine of USC. In 2019, the University of Southern California became the first educational institution to sign on to the American Bar Association’s Diversity Resolution, calling on Jeannine’s leadership to accomplish this. Jeannine also sits on WLALA’s Executive Committee, where she calls awareness to institutional bias and helps move the legal profession toward achieving racial justice. We, at WLALA, are highly honored to highlight Jeannine’s work and join her in pioneering efforts to lead the way for the next generation of leaders who not only come from diverse backgrounds but, as importantly, who also possess diverse thinking.
