The California Civil Rights Department (CRD) seeks a Senior Fair Employment and Housing Counsel to provide legal guidance and support to CRDs Quality Assurance and Reporting Unit (QARU). CRD’s mission is to protect all people in California from discrimination in employment, housing, businesses of every kind, and state-administered or -funded programs and activities, as well as from human trafficking and hate violence. QARU is tasked with processing Public Records Act (PRA) requests and responding to appeals of investigative closures. The successful candidate will conduct legal research and analysis in support of CRD’s responses to appeals and requests for records under the PRA, as well as respond to complex and/or large public records requests on behalf of CRD. The ideal candidate will be a professional in law and public records. The Senior FEH Counsel (or FEH Counsel) is supervised by the Assistant Deputy Director who reports to the Deputy Director of Executive Programs, who in in turn reports directly to the CRD Director.
