DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The attorney will primarily represent HCID’s Asset Management Division and Construction Division with advisory and litigation matters related to its billion dollar loan portfolio. This includes the representation of the City as a secured creditor in state and federal court actions relating to real estate matters including foreclosures, receiverships, probates, and bankruptcies. The duties also include defending the City in lender liability and construction litigation, as well as a broad array of business litigation matters.
In addition to providing advice to HCID staff, the attorney will advise the Mayor’s office; City Council, Council Committees and other City Departments and Commissions on selected Housing Division matters regarding housing issues and may draft ordinances.
