POSITION: Attorney for the Housing Division to provide legal services for the City and the Los Angeles Housing Department (“LAHD”).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The attorney will primarily perform transactional work involving City as a landowner in low income housing-related matters by drafting real estate documents, such as regulatory agreements, ground leases and land sale agreements. The attorney will also represent the City and LAHD as a secured creditor in state and federal court actions relating to real estate matters, defending the City in lender liability and related litigation. In addition to providing advice to LAHD staff, the attorney will advise the Mayor’s office, City Council, Council Committees and other City Departments and Commissions on selected Housing Division matters regarding housing issues and may draft ordinances.
