Lesondra Jones

Ms. Jones is entering her second year at The Colleges of Law, Ventura Campus HJD Program. Ms. Jones is earning her degree while working full time as an Extended Education Specialist II at Cal State San Bernardino, College of Extended & Global Education.  Since starting that role in 2014, Ms. Jones has focused on helping students complete their educational goals through one-on-one counseling, training, and policy initiatives.

Ms. Jones’ dedication to helping students extends beyond her job and into her community. For example, she serves as Interim Vice Chair for the Staff Recruitment, Retention, and Development subcommittee on the CSUSB President’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Board. Ms. Jones also holds a position as Regional Chair for the Association Continuing Higher Education (ACHE) West Region. In that role, she has worked with state and local agencies to support and provide education training programs for community and academic professionals to support their strategic plan in servicing the most marginalized members of society. Ms. Jones also serves as the Public Relations & Communication Officer for the Black Faculty, Staff, and Student Association at CSUSB. Most recently, Ms. Jones and her colleague created an awards program to highlight the work of African American women on campus and community leaders.

After law school, Ms. Jones plans on pursuing a career in family law, with a goal of eventually becoming a family law judge. Ms. Jones has personal experience advocating for children through the journey of raising her son, coupled with the students she has seen professionally as a counselor, liaison, and education specialist.
