Our Mentorship Program pairs law students with two mentors in the appellate field. Additionally, students receive access to appellate-focused programming and other resources throughout the year. 90% of last year’s program participants felt more confident about pursuing appellate work after completing our program.

The application is open to all law students of color interested in the appellate field, including rising 1Ls. We encourage students who enjoy legal research and writing, thinking deeply about complex legal issues, and are driven to make an impact on the issues that matter to them to consider applying.

Please read our FAQs below and apply here by September 12, 2022 at 11:59 pm EST. You can also view the full application here. We encourage you to apply early as no late applications will be accepted.

If you have a question not answered here, please email mentorship@taplaw.org. We encourage you to reach out early to ensure we can answer your question before the application deadline.

Volunteers: Our volunteers make this work possible. If you are an appellate attorney, current or recent law clerk, or judge we would love to work with you!

There are many ways to get involved with our Mentorship Program. Please fill out this form and we’ll send you more information in the coming weeks about the different options for involvement.
