Selene Estrada-Villela

Ms. Estrada-Villela is entering her second year at Loyola Law School this fall.  She is part of the law school’s evening program as she works full-time during the day as a social worker with child protective services.  In 2015, Ms. Estrada-Villela obtained a Master’s Degree in Social Welfare at UCLA and since then she has been helping families navigate the dependency system. Many of her cases have involved direct interaction with children and their families, as her responsibilities include investigating abuse and neglect.  Ms. Estrada-Villela is currently participating in Loyola’s Civil Rights Litigation Practicum which includes an externship with a premiere civil rights organization. She is dedicated to defending children and plans to seek a position with a public interest organization after graduation from law school in order to continue to protect children’s rights.
