The mission of WLALA is “to promote the full participation in the legal profession of women lawyers and judges from diverse perspectives and racial and ethnic backgrounds, maintain the integrity of our legal system by advocating principles of fairness and equality, and improve the status of women supporting their exercise of equal rights, equal representation and reproductive choice.”
WLALA remains firmly committed to investing our time, energy, and fundraising efforts into the future of all lawyers who identify as women. Our strength comes in celebrating our differences and in our willingness to listen to and act on each other’s perspectives.
We will not waiver from this commitment, and more importantly, we will continue to challenge ourselves to “do better” for as Maya Angelou said: “Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.”
Turning to the month ahead I would like to highlight 12 amazing women litigators and judges who have also committed to “do better.” Please join me in attending the 30th Annual Litigator’s Forum at Southwestern Law School’s historic Bullocks Wilshire building on March 6, 2025. Registration begins at 2:30 p.m. and the program contains three separate CLE panels of judiciary, plaintiff attorneys, and defense attorneys on the subjects of Civility, Pre-Litigation and Pre-Trial Investigation, and Trial, followed by a cocktail party. The event is bound to sell out as space is limited so be sure to save your spot early! Thank you to all our generous sponsors and to the Litigation Committee’s planning efforts for this dynamic event.
