Priscilla Anahi Palencia

2025 BRO Scholarship Recipient

Hello! My name is Priscilla Anahi Palencia, a current high school senior at Arroyo High School, located in El Monte California. Throughout my High School experience, I have participated in multiple extra curriculares which include Avid, Link Crew, ASB, Key Club, and Yearbook. I was social activities officer for 3 three years for my Link Crew Club, which is an organization that focuses on upperclassmen providing peer mentorships and support in welcoming freshman in their transition into high school. Furthermore, I was also elected business manager for my Yearbook class. As business manager I was responsible for all our sales, marketing, and advertising for the school yearbook. In all these extracurricular activities I have gained many incredible skills such as leadership, communication, organization, and time management, which are skills that will continue to help me in my future.

Beginning this fall, I will be attending Mount San Antonio College where I will be majoring in English, along with getting a minor in business, to pursue an education in corporate law. I was inspired to pursue a career in law because I have always been very interested in working in a field where I can impact my community and world for the better. As a lawyer, I hope my voice will be heard. As a women, especially as a Latina, sometimes it’s difficult to speak and be heard, or even taken seriously. Pursuing an education for law will help me study and work hard for a career where I know I can push myself into being heard and listened.
