Lei’Anna Gaines

Hello, my name is Lei’Anna Gaines and I am a first-generation college student and graduate of Lakewood High School who has learned the value of resilience, determination, and hard work through personal challenges. Growing up, I faced financial hardships and family struggles that pushed me to become independent at a young age. Despite these obstacles, I have remained focused on my education and future goals. I am passionate about creating a better life for myself while also inspiring others who may come from difficult circumstances.

This fall, I will attend Clark Atlanta University to major in criminal justice as I work toward my long-term goal of becoming a lawyer. I am passionate about advocating for others, creating positive change within communities, and using my future career to help people who may not always have a voice or access to fair opportunities. Throughout high school, I balanced academics, athletics, leadership opportunities, and personal responsibilities, which taught me discipline, adaptability, and perseverance.

My experiences have shaped me into someone who values growth, community, and service. I hope to use my education and future legal career to make a meaningful impact, support individuals facing adversity, and become a role model for younger students who may feel limited by their circumstances. I believe education is a powerful tool for breaking barriers, and I am committed to building a future that reflects strength, purpose, and determination.
