Claire Shaw
2026 Inner City Law Center Fellow
Claire Shaw is a rising 2L at Southwestern Law School and a Washington, D.C. native dedicated to housing justice through tenant advocacy, community lawyering, and abolition feminism. She earned her B.A. in Politics with a concentration in gender studies from Scripps College. Before law school, Claire advocated for Los Angeles tenants as an eviction defense paralegal at Bet Tzedek Legal Services and the Housing Rights Center. Her work alongside low-income tenants facing displacement and lacking a constitutional right to counsel inspired her to attend law school and become a tenants’ rights attorney.
