Dalixa Chuquillanqui

Dalixa is a 1L at Southwestern Law School with a passion for public-interest work. While earning her undergraduate degrees at UCSD, she served two years with JusticeCorps at the Downtown Legal Aid Clinic. She also worked at the U.S. Immigration and Policy Center at UCSD, where she collected data for various immigrant research studies. Before law school, she worked for three years at a personal injury firm, where she learned about civil litigation and interacted directly with clients. Within both her experiences as a student and a professional in the legal sector, she saw the need for attorneys who could communicate with clients in their native languages. She hopes to become an attorney who helps bridge that gap and expands access to legal resources in Spanish.

Currently, Dalixa is a section representative for the Latino Law Student Association, and she is a member of the Public Interest Law Committee, the Women’s Law Association, and several bar associations. This summer, she looks forward to giving back to her community at the Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles, where she will prepare a Disaster Relief Guide for legal service providers and volunteers.
