WLALA announces a new Law Student Fellowship in public interest family law! This celebrates Harriett Buhai Center for Family Law as it transitions from its 36 year legendary Executive Director Betty Nordwind to new leadership under the inspired Stacy Horth-Neubert, WLALA Past President.

Applications are being accepted in February and March for this 10-week summer law student fellowship working at Harriett Buhai Center. CLICK HERE TO VIEW APPLICATION

WLALA has been involved with the Center since its inception. Mablean Ephriam and Patsy Ostroy, who saw a need for free family law, founded the Harriett Buhai Center for Family Law in the 1980s. These two women, the presidents of the Black Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles (BWL) and the Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles (WLALA), saw they could impact their community but didn’t foresee such impact and growth in the organization over the next four decades.

Support for the Center during this exciting time of growth to meet the needs of the community. Donate here: www.hbcfl.org/legacy-fund/
