Laura A. Seigle was appointed to the Superior Court for the County of Los Angeles in 2015. Prior to her appointment, she was a partner in the Los Angeles office of Irell & Manella LLP.
In 2015, Ms. Seigle was named one of The National Law Journal‘s 75 “Outstanding Women Lawyers” in the country. She was also named the 2015 Intellectual Property Litigator of the Year by the Century City Bar Association. In prior years, Ms. Seigle was recognized as one of the 20 “Most Influential Women in IP Law” nationally by Law360; one of 75 “Top Intellectual Property Litigators” by the Daily Journal; and one of the “50 Women Leaders in Tech Law” by The Recorder. For many years Ms. Seigle has been included on the Southern California “Super Lawyers” list by Los Angeles Magazine and was named as a Top 100 Women Lawyer in California by the Daily Journal.
Ms. Seigle is a member of the Chancery Club of Los Angeles and the Yale Law School Association Executive Committee. She was President of the Los Angeles County Bar Foundation and served on the LACBA Counsel for Justice’s Executive Committee. Ms. Seigle is on the board of the Agora Foundation, which offers great books seminars and educates teachers in the seminar method, and the board of the Antaeus Theatre Company, a classical theater ensemble.
Ms. Seigle graduated from Harvard University, magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, and Yale Law School. She clerked for Judge Diarmuid O’Scannlain in the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
