Kellie Johnson

Ms. Johnson is a former Assistant Disciplinary Counsel with the Oregon State Bar. Ms. Johnson graduated Cum Laude from Humboldt State University with a BA in Political Science.  She achieved special certification while attending Guangxi University in the Peoples Republic of China in the political geography of China. She is a graduate of the University of Oregon Law School. She served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Pierre Van Rysselberghe, Lane County Circuit Court Judge.

Ms. Johnson began her law career as a prosecutor in Lane County and ended a 13-year career as a prosecutor with Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office. As a prosecutor she specialized in the prosecution of domestic violence and gang crimes. She is a national, state and local lecturer on criminal law, trial practice and lawyer ethics to numerous Oregon bar associations, law enforcement agencies and community groups. She is a former instructor for the National District Attorneys Association National Advocacy Center in South Carolina and presenter for the American Bar Association Center for Professional Responsibility.

Ms. Johnson was active in the Oregon community having served, among other things, as a former elected representative of Region 5 for the Oregon State Bar Board of Governors, Past President of Oregon Women Lawyers, Past President of the Oregon Chapter of the National Bar Association, Vice President of Oregon Pro-Choice/NARAL and Co-Chair of the Coffee Creek Correctional Facility Advisory Board.  She is the 2007 recipient of the Women of Excellence Social Justice award, the 2016 recipient of the Oregon Women Lawyers Judge Mercedes Deiz Award and the 2017 Humboldt State University, Distinguished Alumni Award.

Ms. Johnson has recently relocated to Southern California and is currently active in WLALA and the Black Women Lawyer Association.
