Merete Rietveld

Merete Rietveld is a deputy city attorney in the Civil Appeals division of the L.A. City Attorney’s Office. She previously practiced public law with the litigation group at Colantuono, Highsmith & Whatley. Between 2013 and 2021, she worked for the Second District of the California Court of Appeal, drafting appellate opinions in civil, criminal, and dependency cases. She started out her career as a litigator for DLA Piper and clerking for two judges in the unlimited civil division in Stanley Mosk Courthouse.
