Mia Thorsen
2025 Harriett Buhai Fellow
Mia Thorsen is a rising 2L at the Chapman Dale E. Fowler School of Law. Mia has always been passionate about the public interest sphere and advocacy, especially in Los Angeles. In high school, Mia served on the Pasadena Tournament of Roses 2020 Royal Court, where she actively participated in community and philanthropic events in the Greater Los Angeles Area. As an undergraduate student at UCLA, Mia was a member of the Central American Student Union, the co-founder and host of the nonpartisan Bruin Political Union podcast, and a Project Assistant with the NALEO Educational Fund’s “Ve y Vota” Campaign. Mia graduated from UCLA in March 2023 with a Bachelors of Arts in International Development Studies.
As a 2L at Chapman, Mia will serve as the Secretary of the Latinx Law Student Association, the Secretary and Programming Chair of the Diversity and Social Justice Forum, and a class representative in the Student Bar Association. Mia will also compete as a member of Chapman’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Team. In the future, Mia hopes to continue to use her legal education and cultural background as an opportunity to connect with and advocate for Los Angeles residents. In her free time, Mia enjoys crossword puzzles, playing with her Beagle dog, and exploring the amazing restaurants LA has to offer.
