Mia Villegas

2023 Inner City Law Center Fellow

Mia Villegas (she/her) was born and raised in Santa Ana, California. She attended Occidental College in Los Angeles where she graduated as a member of Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude with a BA in English in the spring of 2022. Mia discovered her motivation to work in the law through her work at Project SAFE (Project for a Sexual Assault Free Environment) at Occidental. As a programming assistant employed by the college, Mia designed and executed prevention education programs and delivered trainings on the topics of sexual and intimate partner violence, as well as serving as trauma-informed peer support for students who were impacted by these topics. She is currently a 1L at USC Gould School of Law. This year Mia has volunteered with LA County Bar Association’s Domestic Violence Project, assisting litigants with filing restraining orders.  She hopes to pursue a career in public interest family law. In her free time, Mia enjoys reading, practicing yoga, and participating in the performing arts.
