Miriam Farah

Born and raised in LA County, Miriam Farah is a rising 2L at Berkeley Law hoping to pursue a career in housing and economic justice. In 2023, she graduated from Claremont McKenna College with majors in public policy and history and a minor in gender and sexuality studies. With a deep interest in the intersection of criminal justice and gender justice, Miriam wrote a year-long thesis titled “The Criminalization of Girls’ Mental Illness: Race, Gender, and Class in Juvenile Collaborative Courts,” which won Best History Thesis and Best Gender Studies Thesis. Before starting law school, Miriam worked for two years as a civil rights paralegal at Relman Colfax, a DC-based firm focused on fair lending and fair housing impact litigation. While in law school, she volunteers with the Contra Costa Public Defenders’ Office to support its clean slate work and Centro Legal in Oakland to help residents with tenants’ and workers’ rights claims.
