WLALA President 2023-2024

As we bid farewell to 2023, the holiday season serves as the perfect backdrop for reflecting on the impact of our WLALA connections. These relationships have not only enriched my personal and professional life but have also become a source of immense gratitude. A heartfelt acknowledgment goes to WLALA’s 2019 nominating committee, including the esteemed Hon. Holly Fujie, Hon. Laura Seigle, and Stacy Horth-Neubert, whose warm welcome set me on WLALA’s leadership path. I am eager to pay their support forward for our 18 new members of WLALA’s Board of Governors and Foundation Board as we develop programming, create networking opportunities and foster meaningful connections within our legal community.

WLALA’s 2023-24 service year has already kicked off with invigorating events, including our spirited Gala, private Barbie screening, Yoga with Puppies, the launch of our Board of Directors, and outreach to high school and law students through our Power Lunches. Whether through networking events, collaborative projects with our sister bars, or continued outreach efforts, the relationships that are created through WLALA have been the driving force behind our success.

Studies indicate that close relationships, such as those cultivated in WLALA, are vital for a fulfilling and happy life. The holiday season provides an abundance of opportunities to strengthen these bonds including celebrating at WLALA’s Roaring 2023 Holiday Soirée and Judicial Reception on December 6th and participating in the upcoming eviction defense training to support those facing homelessness.

Here’s to a year ahead filled with continued camaraderie, purposeful collaboration, and positive impact!

In your service,

Jeannine Taylor
President, Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles
