Education and Experience I immigrated to the United States of America at the age of 18, where I began my journey of learning English by attending ESL classes at Garfield Campus. I then continued my education at Glendale Community College, followed by California State University, Los Angeles, where I majored in Sociology/Law and Society. Later, I earned my law degree from the University of West Los Angeles School of Law. Throughout my career, I have been dedicated to indigent defense. I started as a defense lawyer with Ciummo and Associates in Madera County, representing indigent defendants, initially focusing on children in dependency proceedings and juveniles in juvenile delinquency cases. After two years, I transitioned to a position as a workers’ compensation defense attorney with a firm in Fresno County. Six months later, I joined the Kern County Public Defender’s Office as a Deputy Public Defender I, gradually rising to the position of Deputy Public Defender IV, where I handled the most serious cases. In 2016, I relocated to Los Angeles to join the Office of the Alternate Public Defender. Currently, I serve as a Level IV attorney on the felony trial team.
