Asli Goncay – Turkey Asli Goncay has practiced law in Istanbul for more than thirty years, a member of the Istanbul Bar Association since 1993, with a practice spanning international law, intellectual property, maritime law, labor law, and family law. As co-owner of Goncay Law Office, she advocated for the labor rights of Turkish seafarers on international seas, and she has advised multinational corporations on cross-border intellectual property and contract matters throughout her career. For close to a decade, she also volunteered as an attorney representing survivors of domestic violence in Istanbul family courts. She holds an ABA-approved Paralegal Studies certificate from Irvine Valley College. At UC Irvine School of Law, she aims to build on this global, cross-border practice with a rigorous foundation in U.S. law, and plans to sit for the California bar exam to continue her legal career in the United States.
